Marie-Thérèse Chappaz Fendant Coteaux de Plamont 2022

Fendant Coteaux de Plamont Chappaz, Biodynamic wine, single vineyard, dry, medium bodied, elegant, long length.  There is a slight bitterness to the wine but with added depth and richness which makes it very gastronomic. Located above the Claives parcel, the Plamont hillside is a much softer slope from whence the name “le Mont Plat” (flat mountain in English) is derived.  The vineyard lies at 650 metres above sea level.  The rich loess on granite terroir gives minerality to the wine. Fendant Plamont is quite a full bodied wine with beautiful minerality and a drier finish than the Fendant Liaudisaz from lower down.  The granite terroir brings a certain verticality and precision of acidity and tension. With citrus, citrus zest, peach and apricot notes, this wine takes time to fully express itself so will mature very well over the next 5-6 years.  A Perch fillet would be its ideal companion or a slightly spicy Thai dish.  Open it and decant a few hours before serving.
