Cotat Monts Damnes Sancerre 2023

Chavignol is the true heart of Sancerre, and the Mont Damnes is arguably its finest vineyard, with incredibly mineral subsoil called Kimmeridgian Marl that gives a great structure to the wines. Francois Cotat makes totally atypical, wonderfully expressive wines with huge character, and this is no exception. Delicate citrus and mineral nose. On the palate this wine is so complex with minerality, lemon, lime, green apple and a hint of flintiness, with a racy yet balanced acidity and superb length. Not your typical Sancerre, but absolutely lovely nonetheless. Enjoy with some really good quality grilled fish.
