Sadie Family Wines Treinspoor 2022

These are some of South Africa’s most sought sought after wines – and if you are lucky enough to try them you will see why. The Ouwingerdreeks (Old Vine) wines are from some of the oldest vines in South Africa (as the name would suggest!) and each of the wines is so different and full of flavour. 

From a vineyard planted in 1974 near a railway line (Treinspoor) and made from Tinta Barocca. Eben likens Tinta Barocca to being like a mix of Rhone Syrah and Piedmontese Nebbiolo. You can see what he means with its dark, spicy damson fruit core surrounded by layers of pretty, floral aromas and brighter red fruit.
