Domaine des Muses was founded in 1992 by Louis and Nicole Taramarcaz. Their son Robert Taramarcaz studied oenology at the University of Dijon and joined the family business of Domaine des Muses in 2002 after many years of study, which included a winemaking internship at Sacred-Hill in New Zealand. In all his vineyards Robert applies the techniques of sustainable production and the vines are cultivated according to methods that comply with the requirements of ecological production. The Domaine, recognised throughout Switzerland, is now appreciated globally since the unexpected visit of David Schilknecht and the mention of eleven grape varieties from Domaine des Muses in the "Best Of 2012" by Guide Parker. The inclusion by Julia Harding MW in the "2015 Selection" by the English critic Jancis Robinson also helped greatly to give an international dimension to this family estate in Valais. These two distinctions represented firsts for Swiss wines.

Humagne Blanche is often ignored a little in Valais, as Valais has so many grape varieties to offer. But we love Humagne Blanche so went to seek out good ones - this one, on oak in a french style, is magnificent.
