Savagnin
This is one of the wine world's rarities, and we absolutely love it. Made from the Savagnin grape in the Jura region of South eastern France, it is a little bit like a fino sherry but with a richer, fuller quality. It comes in a fun sized bottle too - 62 cl, called a clavelin. On the nose nuts, curry and white flowers and a burnt candied citrus quality. The palate is exceptionally rich and creamy with honeysuckle, quinine, peach and a salty tang, Challenging but rewarding! Try it with aged comte, or lobster if you're feeling flush.
