Adank Barrique Pinot Noir 2019 The Adank family estate is located in the north-east of Switzerland and their vineyards are surrounded by snow capped mountains- one of the most beautiful parts of Switzerland. The climate here is incredibly well suited to Pinot Noir, with warm days and cool nights, resulting in very complex, elegant and fresh wines. Organic practises in the vineyards and picking at the right time, that is not too early so that the cooling nights help preserve the acidity is what Hansruedi Adank thinks is one of the key elements to achieve this level of finesse. Alte Reben means old vines- these are 40 years old, which gives even greater concentration and complexity. Bright red plum and black cherry fruit, with elegant, silky tannins and a lovely structure. There is also a savoury edge to it, which is typical for Pinots from this area of Switzerland.
