Shabo Saperavi & Merlot Qvevri 2020

: 50% Saperavi, 50% Merlot
Two grapes are placed into a Qvevri, which is
subsequently buried underground. Those
grapes are the highly tannic, full bodied
Saperavi, and the juicier, softer Merlot. They
combine in perfect harmony, using ancient
winemaking techniques to create a polished
and modern expression of fine Ukrainian wine
The result is a savoury, indulgent wine with
pronounced flavour intensity, well integrated
tannins and a clean, long finish. Just 1,790
bottles made each year.
