Here it is all about Malbec - the traditional grape of the Cahors region, in South West France. His vineyards are some of the highest and coolest in the region. He treats the different parcels in his vineyard differently, both at harvest and for vinification, an he ferments in concrete tanks, sometimes in barrels and amphora. This is nothing like old school, 'tough' cahors Malbec. It has the richness and dark fruit you would expect - but they are also highly aromatic, with gorgeous floral aromas, and they are really bright and fresh too. This is one of Fabien Jouves top cuvees, 40 year old vines make up the Malbec here. It is aged in acacia barrels , making this wine wonderfully pure with no heavy vanilla notes.
